NPL Awarded Library Services and Technology Act Grant
The Nappanee Public Library has been awarded a Library Services and Technology Act (LSTA) grant for Voices from Nappanee’s Past, a project that will transform recordings from 8mm film, cassette tapes, VHS tapes, and other multimedia items to digital formats.
These digitized items will be available online as part of the library’s Evelyn Lehman Culp Heritage Collection and will be included in Indiana Memory, a database of primary sources from across the state. These new digital resources will be available to the public in the spring of 2022 and will complement the Heritage Collection’s other digital resources that include the full run of the Nappanee Advance News, the John Keller Albums, and the Nappanee High School yearbooks.
This project is made possible by a grant from the U.S. Institute of Museum and Library Services, administered by the Indiana State Library.
